Technical Support

DragonSoft Data Systems offers technical support on an as needed basis to all hosted sites, but recommends the following procedures:

  • Transferring Files to Your Site Directory
To get your files onto your site you can either e-mail them to support@cttw.net . The subject should be "Update File(s) for <your domain name>". Files will only be excepted from the owner of the site or designated agents for that domain. This will ensure that only AUTHORIZED changes are made to your site. All updates will take place within 24hrs. of receiving the files. You can also FTP them to your site yourself, you will be given a login and a password to your site.
  • Using Your Pop3 Mail Account
You are given three (3) mail accounts to be forwarded to ANY valid e-mail address. You may assign any name to these you wish (ex: info@yourdomain.com), additional addresses can be purchased if needed (see Pricing for details).  If your ISP does not provide you an e-mail address we can supply one and allow your mail to reside on OUR server. In this case you will be give one (1) address as yourname@yourdomain.com and two address that can be forwarded anywhere including back to your own address.
  • Changing your information
Simply click on this link and you will be giving the Customer Support Screen. Requires you to type in your Registration Number and Password. Forgot your Registration Number? Click Here first
  • Using Common Gateway Interface (CGI) Scripts
We support PERL 5.0x TWO  ways. The first way (our preffered way) is to use the ISAPI dll loaded onto the server. To do this, place your perl scripts into your cgi-bin folder rename them to  yourscript.plx instead of yourscript.pl, it's that simple. Oh yes make sure you change the FORM ACTION statment in your HTML file too. (NOTE: We do NOT use the UNIX extension type of .cgi) If you have trouble running your scripts with this method then you can still use the older less efficent way of calling your scripts directly from your HTML files in the FORM ACTION statment. Why use the first method over the second?? It's FASTER and uses less resources from the server. When you run a script using the DLL the server does not have to spawn a child proccess to run the interpeter, pass the variables to the script and wait for the proccess to finish to give you the results. The IIS does the work within the loaded DLL  making it much faster. You are not restricted to using PERL for CGI though it is the most common language. We also have the Tool Command Language (TCL) interpeter, and you can use JAVA, VB, or a compiled exe (with prior approval to ensure it will not destroy anyones data).
